Remediation measures in a drinking water protection zone

For many years, the drinking water of the spring had been polluted by bacterial contamination and pollution.
The hydrogeological study carried out that the entry of surface water into the spring capture had led to a loss of water quality due to inadequate sealing and covering.
Measurements of the hydrogeological parameters spring discharge, electrical conductivity, temperature, pH value and turbidity as well as laboratory analyses of the chemical composition and bacteriological contamination were carried out.
To improve the quality of the drinking water, remediation measures were planned and supervised.
Through suitable sealing and drainage measures, the surface water is now drained in a regulated manner.
The spring water is clean again and suitable for drinking water supply.
